I liked his early stuff, seemed a lot more genuine. I have no problem with him not eating a fox lol.

I've been watching a bit of Meateater since I get the Meateater channel on a streaming app I have. I'm truly amazed at some of his hunts and at times just a tad jealous. He had a line in one of his episodes where he said something like, ok you shot it now be a man and eat it. So watching an episode where he goes to an Alaskan Island with a native population of about 200 people in the dead of winter to shoot something like a muskox. Before the hunt he goes out and shoots a red fox and says, I can make something pretty out of this for my wife. That just seemed to rub me the wrong way.

I enjoy his podcast and learn a lot from it, don't watch his hunting too much anymore.

The Bloodtrails episodes are great!

MeatEater's Campfire Stories: Close Calls - a book of his that has some good survival stories of hunters and guides. One story about hypothermia that's pretty wild. No mention of fox in the book that i can recall.
