There was a time when I enjoyed watching meat eater and other hunting shows. Now after a lot more learning and practice this video makes me want to vomit. He’s lucky first shot was so high or it would have maimed a young antelope in the background…should not have taken that first shot. The “good enough” zero on a rock at 400+ yards after missing high on the first buck is laughable. This likely led to the poor shot on the buck he ultimately killed, which looks to have suffered from a gut shot for at least a few minutes before he finished it off from close range after it got up and ran. I can only imagine how unpleasant that meat will likely taste as a result.
All this could be avoided if he simply had a rifle system that held zero…
The first miss, it happens, 2nd miss on the walk at 400 in a crowd is wild. Then to take a super hard quartering away shot on relatively undisturbed game seems super rushed. Im not perfect but this guy needs to take an additional deep breathe before he starts slinging lead.
