My LEM meat grinder took a dump. Knew it would happen. Are there any grinders that are quality made with good seals, gears, and made of non corrosive material? Don't need something huge or fast, just something with some quality that isn't a half a grand. Thanks.

I went with the Cabelas branded grinder. You can find them in their Bargin Cave from time to time. Great machine. Not cheap but will last.

I have a cabelas commercial that I'm happy with, it is several years old and grind 75-100 pounds per year. It looks like they don't make them anymore, so there may be some on clearance, I don't know when the new "carnivore" series appeared, since I haven't been looking. Mine has been great, as always, buy bigger than you want. I have the #8 and wish it was bigger, especially if a did more large animals.

I've had a Cabela's size #22 for around five years now. It gets use a lot and hasn't let down yet.

i have a lem here and a gander mt in ohio. they look identical.
both are 3/4 hp and will grind a hundred lbs as fast as you can stuff it in.

and i have burned up a couple of smaller units before i learned.

I also have a 1 HP cabelas. I have tried to make this thing struggle but it grinds and spits out meat as fast as I can feed it. If you grind any decent amount of meat I would recommend getting a bigger one than you think you need. Also, I love the foot pedal for starting and stopping when filling casings and bags.

I use a Cabelas grinder that is probably 15 years old and still going strong. I believe it is the 1hp model.

Get on Craigslist and buy a used USA Made Hobart grinder that will still be going when your grandchildren have it.
