Looks like MDT finally came out with the traditional stock version of their Hnt26. I'd like the grip to be slightly more vertical. I'd also prefer for the integral ARCA to have R-Lock slots machined into it like their ACC Elite does but it would probably compromise the integrity of the rail since it's carbon fiber and not metal. Anyone with a Hnt26 with integral rail have any comment as to how durable the rail has been? Otherwise seems like an interesting option, since with bottom metal it comes in at exactly 31-32 ounces if their numbers are correct.

I had a HNT26 with the ARCA foreend and my RRS SC-LR clamp on my bipod would walk forward under recoil and fall off the chassis if I wasn't paying attention.I ended up installing an M-lok picatinny and swapping to my ADM-170 QD clamp. If it had R-lok it would have mitigated that from happening but I don't know how that would effect durability.

That's kind of what I imagined. I had the same happen on a KRG ARCA spigot. Now I use R-Lock + RRS SC-ARC clamp for everything.

While cool, it’s about 2x what I’d be willing to pay. I’m sure it’s nice though.

I'll keep my McMillans and Manners that come in that weight for cheaper. Nice try MDT but that price is way high. If it were 3/4 of that, maybe. If it were half, id try one. The only thing I like about it is the lockable mag release but it hangs off the side it looks like and that's just their bottom metal, not the stock.

I'm almost 100% sure when I upgrade the stock on my hunting rifle (from a KRG Bravo), it'll be to a Manners LRH. I know I'll like the ergos of the grip since I miss my EH1A after I sold it. I know I can order it direct from Manners with a reduced LOP like 13" but I need to figure out if Manners would be able to shorten the LOP of an existing LRH stock if I bought one from Altus and sent it in. To be honest I don't see myself doing the usual 12 month Manners wait time.

I mean a Manners LRH is going to be around $1,150 with the same QD mounts and a full length ARCA rail plus it’s going to be 8 oz heavier. So essentially you are paying $150 to save half a pound and a 12 month wait.

And I say that as someone who just today spent $1,100 on a Manners Pro Hunter.

I was comparing it to the weight of the typical LRH. 31 with a mini chassis or somerhing like that. Even lighter if you don't get the chassis. No reason to get a full length rail on a hunting rig IMO. Last one i bought was in stock on battalion. I like my manners but I'm not sure I like it enough to wait for a year.

If I'm not mistaken the MDT had a v block and it wasn't a chassis right?

I’m definitely buying in to the whole dampening thing. It’s not exclusive to this new MDT though. I have switched my rifle around stocks as well as shots friends rifles and it is very apparent that the foam filled carbon stocks are nicer to shoot and feel more “dead”.

My solid Fiberglass Grayboe definitely has a firmer punch than its carbon counterparts.

I look forward to some day picking up one of these MDT stocks on sale for 30% or 40% off. The product seems spot on in its design.

Manners can shorten the LOP on your stock. Have you asked Altus if they could?
