McMillan Mountain Tracker LR - Tikka T3 Dev Project

Anyone know if they’ll offer a CTR magazine inlet? I feel like I saw it but now can’t find the info again.

Would be interested in a review from someone who owns a Rokstock on how this one compares, geometrically and for recoil management from field shooting positions.

I did one a while back in the rem700 Mtn tracker lr thread. I have Tikka and rem700 rokstok, plus a few Mtn tracker lrs(soon to be more) since rokstok acquisition is a shit show.

Here is mine. I may end up sanding two little spots on the barrel inlet where it’s tighter than I’d like. Other than that it’s sweet and the trigger reach is much better than the factor stock I took off.

Looks great! I went with the Sage HEC as well (for my Nanook). I went with the Slate for my Tikka.

Got the notification my Tikka stock is done and shipping soon. My other Mountain Tracker LR (for my Nanook) is set to arrive tomorrow.

Stoked to have both of these soon.

Nice, so what was the consensus?

I was torn between Slate and Sage for my stainless Tikka. If I end up liking this stock enough I’ll get one in Slate for my Stiller Predator 300 PRC.

The Rok tracks slightly better in recoil. The rest is better with McMillan. Flush arca is very nice. The McMillan was few oz lighter, perfect finish and inletting. No fumbles, no year long wait. I like the rokstok, and if they were on the shelf for 600$ it's great but that's not the case, plus a protruding arca right at the position your hand sits while carrying single hand, is rather inconvenient, the flush arca you really don't know it's there.

Got the shipping notice today for my Tikka. UPS dropped off the Mountain Tracker LR for my Kelbly 300 PRC. Have to say - the fit and finish is fantastic. Very high quality stock. Will be getting my 300 PRC and Tikka 223 CTR out this week.

Just squint your eyes a bit and pretend this is a Tikka haha

are you shooting them same lop?

I just called McMillan to inquire about left handed option and timeline of a new order, and thought I would share the answers in case anyone else is wondering.

Yes, left handed option is available.

For a new order, it will be about 4-6 months. The Dev Project orders were rushed. Now that that is completing, all others will go into a different queue at a slower pace. People can submit the $100 deposit in the same fashion as the dev project now to get that started or wait 3-4 weeks for the site to take orders like other stocks.
