So stoked for this! So, if they take 3 months to make the molds how much longer do you guys expect it will take to see the stocks? I sure hope it's before hunting season! I have never ordered from McMillan but Manners sure takes a long time!

My McM ELR hunter stock only took 2.5 months for a short action rem700

Being that this mold is specifically for Tikka's (nothing else is sharing the mold), I would not expect lead times to be any longer than that

I’m not very original- I think I’m set on the Slate hard edge camo. It’ll look just like the photo for the dev project : stainless action, carbon barrel, etc.

Was just thinking - need to make up my mind regarding bottom metal and mags. I have a CTR in 223 currently and not sure if I’ll keep as is or swap to the mountain tactical.

I'll probably go with the HEC1 - Sage. Not very original either but I do like that color scheme a lot. It reminds me of the Kuiu Vias pattern which I love.

While I like the Hard Edge schemes like the HEC1, I don't really think they add much over the HLS style for the extra $75 it costs to get it. I will probably end up spending that $$ to get carbon fiber rather than fiberglass.

Will bed top and bottom and change the flush cups to be nonrotating (irritating they don't offer this)

I wish they offered bare carbon to let a guy do his own camo over it. Keeping some of the carbon showing obviously

I was sold on the HLS - Pine, but @Blackdog317 setups are making me seriously consider the classic grey and black speckled paint.

What barrel set up will people be using for their 6.5 cm on this build? Trying to figure out what contour to pick if using stock barrel, that will allow me to go aftermarket barrel after.

Open to recommendations for a gun that could be use for comps but mainly range and hunting

Pick a channel for the fattest barrel you think you'll ever use. Won't matter with a smaller contour

Should be able to use T3X or CTR depending on what you order. There's nothing else available for Tikka.

I will be curious to see how quickly their Customer Service calls to take the formal orders.

Once folks start receiving these calls, update this group.

I think I have settled on HEC1-Sage with a Benchmark #5 contour. I have not decided If I want the Carbon shell over fiberglass considering it will be fully painted.
