We thinking this stock is gonna be around a grand all in with carbon fiber and paint? I am on the fence. I have no problem with this type of funding, as it helps make guys put their money where their mouth is. Tikka's are not nearly as popular mainstream as they are on Rokslide.

With exposed carbon, I know my 700 inlets have been closer to $1100 shipped msrp.

I want to back the mountain tracker LR but I can’t bring myself to pay an extra $400-$500. The quality of my McMillan is awesome but not worth $500 over my Rokstok. If they would have offered a discount to back the project I would have been all in but no discount and asking us to fund their venture doesn’t sit well.
this is how i feel too. RS is really good, especially for 550. I ordered a second immediately after my first range session. Doubt the MTLR is anywhere close to double the value for double the price. plus I can dial in the lop and comb height with spacers on the RS which was difficult for me at first with the negative comb. Worried about that with the MTLR. I have however shared this on multiple other sites to try and get this funded. more Tikka options the better. (also sent McMillan an email that a discount should be given for dev project funders heh). Hope it happens but for now I can't commit sry

Its been over a year since they opened pre-orders. Some those orders still aren't filled and you cannot currently order one, and if/when they do re-open, how long will that wait be? Don't get me wrong, I feel the McMillan isn't worth the extra price, but it's available to order. Rokstok is unobtanium right now.

This is the problem I have. I have two tikkas that need something better than a factory Tupperware stock, and I wouldn’t mind trying one but hell you can’t touch them with no end in sight (that I’m aware of). The MCM looks like a solid option but don’t know if I want to drop a G on it either when I can find a chassis type setup for 3/4-1/2 the price. Analysis paralysis.

I was a little disappointed to see this hasn't really been shared on their social media platforms as well. Seems like it would generate some interest.

Anyways, I sent them a message over instagram to see if they'd post it.

Maybe they want 50 BEFORE they say yes, then they can start production and expect additional sales volume through their own marketing. I’d guess they don’t want the 50 pre-orders to be the only 50 they sell.

There so many fluffernutter m700 clones, I am always shocked by why on Rockslide the push for Tikka continues.

It could be the superior trigger, it could be that every Tikka action can have a prefit or factory barrel spun on it and 99% it will be in spec, it could be the lack of bolt bind, it could be a very effective optics mounting platform without the need for a pic rail, or it could be that a whole rifle can be had for a few hundred less than a comparable custom action.

I just don't know.

I found this thread.

I'm on the fence but could jump in if it comes down to the project flopping if you don't get a few outliers.

I have a Rokstok but I'm naturally too curious and love to compare.

The grips feel similar, as is the grip to trigger distance.

Is the McMillan as thin as the Rokstok or at least nearly the same? Of the few Macmillan’s I have handled in the past they had such a large chunky grip. This having a shorter trigger reach would be ok with the large grip but I would still prefer something thinner than what I have seen in the past.

From a pure handling and offhand shooting perspective how does the forend on the McMillan compare to the Rok in your opinion.
