Thanks @LostWapiti for posting the link to this in another thread, sorry for stealing your thunder but I believe this needs it's own!

I've been waiting for this to come up for a while now, so I'm in as one of the backers with a deposit down. Let's get this project going so we have another properly designed stock option for Tikkas! I've seen other members posts that they received their order in ~7 weeks from order with the current production MTLR, so wait times could be incentive. If you have a MTLR or have shot one, feel free to post specs, reviews, thoughts, etc.

If it weighed less and had a shorter lead time I would be all in. I let the bugs shake out of first

Sounds like the current production is less than advertised in hand, possibly depending on barrel channel inletting.

@khuber84 care to share some specs and thoughts?

Expected weight is 30-32 ounces. Remember that includes all standard accessories which is both the front pic rail and rear Arca, plus flush cups.

I also wish it was a bit lighter but that doesn’t seem to ever be McMillan’s MO. They want to build them robust, not light. I think the rokstok is nearly as heavy within a couple ounces. 28-30 oz is what I have seen.

IIRC, with a rail the rokstoks are coming in 30-31 ounces, heavier with the molded in green/black camo finish.

IIRC I saw some posted weights of the current production being around 29oz in hand, I'd be stoked with that but anything 32 or sub is fine. I'll trade an oz or 2 for the ergonomics.

This looks like an awesome option. From what I have seen, Mcmillan fit/finish it top notch. Glad they finally got with the program on weight and stock design. I got the email about the dev project. Was hoping you guys would all fund it and get some in hand for first hand reviews before I committed HAHA

If it gets close to the cutoff date and we need another backer I know where to find you 🧐

I wish there was some benefit to it - 10% off or something. Basically the way I am reading the email is "Float us some cash so we can maybe buy tooling to make you a stock IF we get enough capital raised, if we get enough money then you can pay full price for it"

They have to have enough market awareness to see that a well designed tikka hunting stock should sell fine. It would have to sell better than some of the crazy looking specialized tactical stocks they are selling right??

You aren't wrong...

But hey it will FEEL like 10% off when it comes time to pay for it since you already paid the $100 and we know feelings are most important 😊

Stop using logic, just pay the $100. I mean, it's not a pre-sale

I agree, seems a little shady. I guess though from their perspective its if you want it bad enough then you can pay to play.

DO they do spacers or anything to adjust lop?I realized with the rokstock that the negative comb can take a little fine tuning.

Looks like a good option. I have a game Warden LR and I really like that stock. Bedded, it came out lighter than my manners LRH but I do prefer the arca rail on the manners so this will fit the bill.

I don't necessarily think it's shady, I honestly think they might not have the market awareness. They don't have a FB or IG page, and I've never seen a forum account. I'm sure this was sparked from enough emails, but they may not see what we see being involved here. Regardless, getting enough "backers" to put in deposits for a potential mold, during the holidays with a 60 window, was a less than optimal marketing move, IMO.

Description doesn't go into detail, but this is listed on the additional specs. I imagine stock LOP is 13" standard + 1/2" for pad to = 13.5", so maybe spacers up to 14" without pad?

I'm also curious about trigger reach. On the Rem 700 it looks to be similar to the Rokstock, but if they use the same trigger reach like Stocky's did on their Tikka mold and it comes out to 2.1", I'll be pissy.
