Juts wondering who opted to try the new Mavin 18x56's over the usual suspects for 15 power bino's ?

Are you happy ?

Would you go that way again ?

Did the Mavin's leave you satisfied or do you wish you just had of bought the Swarovski SLC 15's ?

Do the Mavin 18's Have any adavantage over the Swarovski's ?

I now have;

Meostar b 1.1 10x42's
Meostar s2 spotter 20-70

Looking to add 15's or 18's

Have a little OCD so the Meostar 15's appeal from the point of "everything is the same brand" and the reviews on them are pretty good.

Yeah its the safe option when you dont get to look at this gear first for sure.

I appreciate the response.

cheers

I compared the maven 18s to the UHDs last month. I preferred the UHDs but they were close.

I have a pair of 12x50 meostars and like those too, but I think for 18s it would be tough to beat the UHDs.

My personal opinion is if you want to go big/unhandheld, go all the way and get 18s. They can nearly replace the smaller spotters is a lot of situations.

Comparison below if you care to review.

I own both the maven 18*56 and the meopta 15's. Both are really good binos. The meopta are pretty darn impressive though. I'd go with Swarovski 15 slc's over both. I also own Swarovski El's 10*50 and Swarovski 7*42 and you just can't beat them.
For my eyes anyways.

I'd love to own them all as well !

But alas it will be one of them for me !

I was out hunting yesterday and was using my Meostar 10x42 HD's, they really do impress me great glass and the atmospheric conditions were not helping the cause (hot/dust/mirage).

Thanks for the reply !

I've owned the Meopta 15's and now the Maven 18's. I didn't think the 15's offered enough over 10x to also carry so I returned them to Cabela's (thanks to their return policy). The 18's on the other hand, offer enough of a different experience in my opinion. I wanted a binocular to scan far distances only on a tripod and I found the 18's to be a significant step up from the 15's in that department. However, I will say, on pure glass quality, Meopta wins. I never noticed any chromatic abberation in any of my other optics until I looked through those Meopta 15's and saw what zero CA looked like. If Meopta or Swaro made an 18 or 20, I'd go that direction, but they don't.

The other option for an 18x is the new Vortex UHD......my guess is that sooner rather than later Meopta or Swaro will bring an 18x to market, especially if they lose sales of their 15x ofeerings to Mavin and Vortex with their 18x.

Agree the Meopta's are darn good glass I have a pair of b 1.1 10x42 HD's they are really nice.

I have some thinking to do while I save for them.
