Last year I picked up a Zeiss Conquest 80mm. I freaking love it.
But it was completely useless at S2H because it's slow to aim. And even hunting I'll admit that it's definitely not the fastest to get on target with. It's perfect for the other half of situations when you have all day to get on an animal that's lazily feeding.
I really don't mind the weight penalty of an 80mm. I found last year that carrying the boat anchor even in steep terrain paid off.
Looking at that $2000 price range
When Maven first came out I demoed an angle body for a couple weeks. It seemed really good.
I'd probably go with the wide angle eye piece then maybe later pick up a mil. But in my normal hunting I'm either solo or hunting with my kids whose shots are sub 300.
I'd assume the older Kowas that pop up in the classified are good too? Any others?
