Hey everyone,
I am preparing to transition from a traditional truck/base camp setup to backcountry backpack hunting. I mainly do early fall archery deer and elk (September) with an occasional later rifle hunt, so I am looking to completely overhaul my heavy base camp sleep system for something lightweight and compact.
Shelter Dilemma:
I am torn between a floored vs. floorless setup and am looking at the Kuiu Summit 1P or the Argali Owyhee 1P.
  • For those who have run both styles for early fall archery, what’s your real-world experience regarding condensation and floorless versatility?
Sleeping Bag Options:
I've been looking at the Sitka Hyper Down bag and the PEAX Solace bag.
  • Is it worth going the traditional commercial brand route with these, or am I better off looking at high-end lightweight quilts/bags like Stone Glacier, Western Mountaineering, or Katabatic Gear?
Pad & Pillow Setup:
What is the current go-to lightweight pad and pillow setup that balances a solid R-value (for when temperatures unexpectedly dip into the 20s) with low pack volume?
For context, I am looking to minimize bulk as much as possible to fit everything into my pack without fighting it. Any insight or alternative gear suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you haven't already you might consider listening and watching some of the exo experience project content from 2024.
