So excited! Took only 3 days to get here from the time I placed the order. It is going to live on my 223 Tikka but were to far into hunting season to swap now. I'll hunt with my Nightforce this year on it. Leave next week on a backcountry hunt here in idaho. Hope to put a muley buck on the ground.

I just got off the phone with Maven as they needed to verify that I was not fraud and that I was me. While we were talking I asked how long it took to sell out and how many. Apparently they "sold out" in 1 day on the 200 units they had. (The website shows it is still in stock and the guy mentioned he had only been there for 3 days... grain of salt info.)

The exciting part is more units are arriving in November and they are going to do a better job at keeping them in stock full time now!
Only 200 units and sold out in one day??

So much for "we have a large shipment inbound which should fulfill all orders" ...

on the other thread, @Alpha Echo said apparently 300 units arriving November. Will be interesting to see how long they last.

Having told me I was on the alert list, I didn't get an email.

Maven are beginning to excrement me.

they were in stock for at least 3 days. I kept checking and waffling if i needed a 3rd or 4th and ultimately refrained. not sure how you missed it if you were watching this thread but everytime they are in stock and then go out of stock you need to sign up for the notification email again, in both colors. mine goes to my gmail promos section of my email. they've been dropping them around 10 or 11 am west coast time when they do drop

I was just quoting someone else, who was quoting Maven, as to the 1 day.

I wasn't watching the thread, as out of town for work. And was on the notification list (as confirmed by Maven), but no notification email.

I was on the newest list as well and never got it. Rokslide thread saved the day for me. Although I was checking mavens site several times a day anyway lol.

I ordered two and they showed up last night. Haven’t had a chance to really play with them yet. But, so far seem pretty decent. I just need to pick up a couple more rifles to put them on…

My RS1.2 in mil arrived yesterday. I have 2 in the MOA version and love those (purchased before discovering the good word on milliradians), but the mil reticle is far better. The quick drop calcs perfectly match my 6.5x55. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences and data on this scope!

Here's a drop test....of sorts.

I'm in 2F on an American flight at the gate in DC preparing to deplane.

I have the window to my back. A lady across the aisle is looking my direction and says "oh my, he just threw that long bag and missed".

I turn around and say "oh that's me...great".

I set up a tall target and hit the aiming point at the bottom, 2mil elevation and 4 mil elevation.

My wife was dismayed this was my first priority coming in the door.

I do not believe that he "missed". I think he did what he intended to do.
I always wonder if cynical people are cynical because they are personally jackass's or if it is because they have never worked a real job or if it is because the unrealisticly assess themselves.

Regardless, I don't understand assuming the worst about others based on so little information.

It is mostly from personal experience. Watching a Delta luggage guy lift my rifle case in the air and drop it hard enough to cause deep grooves in the plastic that cut through the duct tape with my name on it. When I brought this up with the airlines, he claimed he "tripped"! He initially denied that it happened. The ripped duct tape that I applied at the airport infeont of the checked baggage girl proved it was damaged after they took possession.

Sometimes we are happy go lucky people that have been in a situation that changes your perspective on some things.

Is it possible he chucked a 30# rifle case and missed the cart? Absolutely!
Is it also possible he is an anti-gun person with a bad attitude that day? Absolutely

In the end, happy go lucky or cynical, this is why we would all agree on a scope like this. If you trip, drop it or drop it from above your head in a rifle case, the POI is still good to go! That is the beauty (and another testimony) of having a quality scope. On that, we can all agree. :)

Anyone got theirs mounted in NF Ultralight rings? Maven says to follow ring manufacturers recommendations on torque spec, NF says don’t exceed 25 inch pounds on ring caps. I just mounted mine at 22, anyone with this combo care to chime in?

I put mine at 25 inch pounds. All good here.

Why would you not use 25 in-lbs.

I’m going to now, I’ve always done 22 with SWFA’s and Burris/Seekins rings based upon things learned on here. This is my first set of the nightforce rings so I wanted to double check.

Plus nightforce’s spec just states “do not exceed 25” and not “torque to 25” so I wanted to just be sure.

Got you. 25 in-lbs with NF rings and good scopes is the way.

Form still not showing his face, even at work! Now we see how he is able to drop test so many rifles! Shoot2Hunt now sponsored by American Airlines?
