The no cam htr is a limb stop isn't it? I shot the demo tonight. Doesn't draw quite as smooth as my elite, but has a solid back wall and was quiet and ibo'd at 301 with 28" draw. Have to admit I'm thinking about it, can def see this bow being very accurate and quiet. Seems absolutely fool proof to tune and as far as I can tell all but eliminates cam lean. Couldn't torque those cams if you tried, and I did try.

The string track is concentric to the axle, maintaining the same angle between string departure and axle.
The take up side, rather than being a shaped cam, is round, but does not rotate concentrically around the axle, essentially doing the same thing as a std takeup module. The letoff side works with the takeup side to give you your draw curve.
By evenly distributing the load on each side of the string track, you have a truly balanced system, influenced only by the slight offset pull of the limb tips from the cable guard. If you wanted true zero horizontal nock travel you could put a split roller guard on it and shoot thru the cables.

You got it. Axle is dead center in the string wheel with the let out cable side being off center on one side of the wheel and the take up mod on the other side. It is actually a pretty awesome system.

I was impressed with how it shot a felt, and I haven't liked Mathews for years. That long riser holds amazingly steady on target and balances well. Basic tuning will be just like any binary/slaved system, easy.

I drew one tonight and not shooting it, it felt rock solid, but no valley, which doesn't bother me. Bow felt really top-heavy for me and it's uglier than homemade sin. But I was impressed with the originality of it. I've been a Hoyt guy for 25 years, but if I wasn't shooting a Hoyt, I'd shoot a Mathews. Interesting bow.

Decided to finally upgrade to a newer faster bow this year. Been shooting a Q2 for the last 11 years. I had it narrowed down to either the new NoCam or the Creed XS. I shot both and both felt great in the hand. The NoCam was extremely quiet, really the only thing I could hear was the nock popping off the string and the arrow hitting the target. I think that it was the quietest bow I have ever seen/shot in my 30 years of shooting. As for accuracy and feel, I don't like the new Mathews focus grips. I like the old wooden grips, they just feel better to me. And without getting both all setup for the range I cannot speak to the overall accuracy of either. But I would have to think that the NoCam is pretty accurate. I ended up buying the Creed XS because I do a lot of stalking and the bow is more compact. It also was not much noisier and is faster in the end. So Im not sure how well the NoCam will do other than with those "I have to have the newest thing" type people.

Too bad 85% let off is illegal in CO and that is how the bows ship. I never even paid attention to maximum let off in Colorado until I was about to test shoot a Mathews at the bow shop down the street. They didn't mention it to me, but luckily I found out elsewhere. I guess buyer beware, but I am having troubles not holding it against my local shop as they admitted to me they know 85% let off is illegal in CO and yet that is all they have in the shop with no other modules. But what do I know about such things and I know it's a quick adjustment. I would have thought they would have already set the bow up with the right modules for this state or at least have them in stock so a person could test shoot a bow that is legal for hunting here.

Mathews have different modules to change the let off on their two cam bows. Their single cams are 80% let off. So they would be legal in Colorado.

The maximum let off for bow hunting in CO is 80%. I am unaware of any changes coming up in 2015. The Chill X is standard 85% let off with 75% module options. The store in question does not have any 75% let offs. The no cam has 65/75/85 options and I don't know what is standard on that bow, but I believe it was addressed in an earlier post.

All of the Chill X models we have received in all came with the silver 75% modules. You can also install the standard 80% modules as well.

Are you saying the Chill X you received came from the factory with the 75% modules installed or are they in some sort of accessory bag. I'm just wondering if my local store doesn't have them in some corner collecting dust and the clerk doesn't know about it.

FWIW, The mathews web site is still suggesting that the Chill X only comes in 75/85 with the 85 standard.

We order them in with 75% mods. You can use any module made for the Dyad-AVS cam on the Chill X. You are not limited to just the two rock mods. You can put the standard 80% modules on that bow if you'd like.

Well it sounds like the local shop made a poor choice. Any idea how much new modules cost? There also was a lot of talk during the initial release of the Chill X having a much harsher draw cycle at 75% then 85%. I haven't heard anything on the 80% draw cycle, what are your thoughts on that OR? And I understand everyone has their own preference and perceptions of what a draw cycle should be like.

The 85 is smoother but I prefer the holding weight of the 75s. It's not a drastic difference between the two.

Shot one of these the other day. I am going to have to go back and shoot it against my Strothers to get a good comparison. I kind of feel that they are taking a step back in time, to the wheel bows of the 70s. When I shot target in college I remember all the older guys shooting them and saying how they were the best shooting bows even compared to the new ones. They were easier and smoother to draw for all day shooting at shoots.

It will be interesting to see how they do go over though.
