Mathews 2022

Just watched the video on Mathews site the SAS seems like a cool idea, won't help if you cut your string or cable in half though. The site dovetail seems like a good idea to get things balanced a little better

I like that the sight isn't proprietary. Says any dovetail from HHA, Spot Hogg, or Axcel.

Wish the stone color hadn't disappeared. Don't like the granite color from the pictures.

I do like that. From the video last night I thought they were pushing more proprietary parts.

I do love idea taking existing popular sites and finding a new way to integrate.

Can anyone help me understand what’s really gained by doing this? Other than a little weight taken off?

On the sight, very little. It brings just a little bit of weight closer to the centerline, which I don't think is important, but it's marketing.

I have seen sight screws loosen on a hunt, so having a single screw, rather than 3, might prevent that. But that's also assuming that the tolerance is tight enough on all the dovetails that it really does fit pretty snug.

It's stronger.
But I don't think anyone was busting sights off. I know I have busted a lot of stuff, and that's something I haven't yet done.

It makes it tacticool I think, likely more of a selling point than anything.

Yeah makes sense. I was wondering if axis alignment might benefit too. But likely a little wiggle in that system so you still need to true the first axis.

I’m curious how far away Mathews is from a Carbon bow. You have to believe they’re working on it. Also would like to see an integrated Hamskea in the future.

I'm wondering how much tighter a quiver can get to the bow and if the Matthews quiver means no more side bar for my set up (i.e., side to side balance).

Anyone set one up with a Hamskea yet and take a look at the clearances with the Matthews quiver?

My Hamskea Trinity and TS is pretty tight, not a lot of room in there for play. The Mathews quiver May work best or be developed for the integrated QAD, the Hamskea is a thick girl.

Bows are so boring now days...

You mean you don’t get on the hype train every year when a tweaked version of the flagship bows from the year before that was based on the flagships from the year before that gets re-released just to be 2 fps faster with the same brace height?!?!

33

288fps
469gr
28.5/75

Specs weren’t measured, only a D Loop. I’m sure the DL is longer and the # is higher. Looks like an expensive slow bow for the time being

Running the numbers back on that for me, it would be roughly 283 where my vxr is 275.5. The added string length and 1/2" longer brace should make it 7+ fps slower.

I'm curious now. I suspect the poundage was way over, plus the normal 1/2-5/8".

79# and 29.125" actual numbers I'm betting.

I was gonna message you about all this buddy, let me know when you get one in hand and put it through it’s paces. I’d love to own one but right now my Enkore is simply doing more for me.

Those are hard to beat.

I think for us on the shorter spectrum of the draw length for the 33 are going to get screwed by the cam efficiency.

I'll probably have some numbers tomorrow. Ones that have true draw length and weight so we know what it's doing, just cause I have time and why not.

The claimed ibo between the 29 and 33 should have more discrepancy, so I think something is getting fudged.
