Like a TRX 36?

Fact is, they really didn't sell that many Traverse. The short bows sell.

I'm all about longer ATA bows, but as a manufacturer you go to where the market is.

I hear you, but the price point on those TRX series is out of control

I get that there is little left to innovate on until some new magic material or manufacturing process is created.

But I still feel like Mathews is gonna get skewered. They innovated on how to sell accessories. Not how to help people shoot or hunt. At least Dudley added features that provide some functionality when he first partnered with PSE.

I can't tell if that was intentional, or someone really screwed the pooch

The product or the fact someone found the video? The video is unlisted at the moment which means it’s not searchable but it’s not private either. So likely a small mistake but they didn’t think it would get out.

That the video is out.

Mathews has put some heavy penalties in for their dealers that don't follow their rules.

He’s also trying to sell a $1900 dollar bare bow.

I'm trying to remember what he added. I remember a hole in the yoke donut to tie in a drop away. Making sure the bows had double berger holes, I'm sure there were other things.

At least Mathews has come out with a system to service your strings and cables in the field, haven't seen that out of any of the major companies.

I think the sight mount is pretty robust. I don't think it will take off, but that's the strongest sight mounting system I have seen.

I wasn't expecting much, but I don't think it's bad. Everyone kept asking for a longer AtA, longer brace, see if it sells.

Yeah I wasn’t expecting much. And I’m happy they are making more options in length for those that want it. Just felt like to me there were small things that could add function. The in the field cable system is the most interesting thing they did.

I liked the PSE addition of letting you use arrows (cut down) to make a quick and possibly cheap stand for the bow. Just felt like Dudley added nice small bits of functionality. And all my eyes are is Mathews making new accessories that don’t do much for the average shooter. That sight mount and even the dovetail rest make the assumption that people were really having a hard time and I find it hard to believe. I don’t disagree that it’s an improvement, but with very little gained.

I still love shooting my VXR and will certainly demo the bows. Just had hoped for smaller thoughtful touches to the new bow. And IMO I’m not seeing that.

Other than the in-the-field cable system.

I think the in the field system is a huge leap.

Maybe not in function, but just the allowing the end user to do anything. They have been pretty anti end-user working on their bow in anyway.

They are reacting to the market, they know they need to evolve.

I'm surprised how much liability they might be opening themselves up to.

I like the looks and specs of the new 33. The field service cams are cool, the fact they continue to offer and update 2 piece quivers is a feature I like, I doubt other companies are going to build sights to fit that dovetail but as other have said it looks stout! The new granite color looks great. Im not a huge Mathews fanboy and have never owned one but they make a great bow
Edit: I just saw the sight system accepts existing dovetails, yeah that’s more useful than I thought

I’m interested to see how this device actually works, especially if a bow is already derailed etc.
