My area is 12x14’ but isn’t clothes or pack storage. First, for storage I picked up an entire set of beautiful used kitchen cabinets for cheap. I installed about 25 linear feet of them around the room. Ditched the PRE-existing countertop and ordered up new to match my configuration. In two areas I reinforced the heck out of the top...for my big swivel vise, which is the most used piece of gear in my room. I put it on a two way access corner so you can work on two sides of the unit and left it open underneath for the trash can. The area is posted to the floor with 4”x4” posts and anchored into the concrete as well as screws to the back wall studs. The other reinforced zone holds my rifle and one shotshell press. The other shotshell gauge presses and shot are stored below in the open area.

I did wire cable TV and have an XM radio in their as well. A great south and west window combo with a view, sunlight and vent make it very pleasant. Also a 36” door off the garage and another into the house make access a snap.

I'm in the process of framing a room to put all of my gear. Hunting cloths, gun safe, gun cabinet, fishing gear, packs etc. I'm looking for advice on overall layout ideas for the room. I'll be doing reloading, fly tying, gun maintenance, bow work, etc. It will also be an office. I'm very good at carpentry and cabinet work but lack experience in the layout of this particular type of room. Any advice or suggestion at this phase would be great. The size is 10' x 16'. Thank's in advance for any input. Pictures would be a great visual.

10x 16 seems tight for all of that plus an office? I would do as much cubbied shelving as possible floor to ceiling

Like that!
After the move last fall, reloading room was kind of a catch all for a long time. Made some time this summer, slapped together a gun rack, still got the brad nailer in the corner..
But it's coming together, surrounded by rifles, revolvers, recurves, and long bows. Can kick back in the meditation chamber and listen to tunes if the mood strikes. One acoustic guitar, should drag a one of the electrics and an amo down here..

Make it 25% larger than you think you’ll need. A couple other suggestions from when I built mine...

Make it an adaptable space. Bathroom/shower and room for a small kitchen some day. You never know when you may need to turn it into an apartment for a family member. Also it’s REALLY nice to have a small bathroom and wash area right next to where you’re working on stuff. A fridge and microwave are really nice to have in there too!

Run extra outlets and have a spot for dedicated 220V power for running some of the heavier tool/air compressor/drill press/mill/welders/etc.

Insulation and temperature control are key. Don’t forget to factor these in.

I ran Ethernet lines with ports for dedicated devices. TV, computer, and my work from home space all have Ethernet lines to a separate modem. WiFi router as well. I’m currently forced to work from home due to Covid19 and this has been clutch.

Removeable storage over built in storage. Much more versatile and goes back to being able to use the space for something else if that event ever comes.

Watch the old movie Tremors (the first one). Be inspired. It worked for me.

To be clear....the movie inspired me to “some day” build that picture....which is from the original movie. Sorry now I feel bad.

Thanks for the kind words. I do like the safe in the wall. I have a gun cabinet I built in HS that might go. I might put a mobile table to work on guns and such. It’s such a beautiful cabinet though and it’s the first one I built.

I have enjoyed having this bow rack as opposed to getting it in and out of a big ugly case on the floor every time I wanted to shoot.

Here is my Man Cave. I may have to update some of the pics. If you exit from the cave, through the bathroom into the garage section is where my reloading bench and archery workshop are.

Built everything myself over about an 18 month span. Walnut countertops, 9800 pennies and tons of reclaimed wood. Around 700sf including the bathroom, 14ft ceilings, acid stained floors, 144" screen, in wall sound, wi-fi, etc.....it is now also serving as my office since the Corona hit.

I've spoiled myself a little but its worth it.
