Man cave ideas. Let's see them.

I just recently did exactly what you are planning. Several years ago, I built a metal building with a shop in the front and a horse barn in the back. The shop ended up being nothing but junk storage so I decided to build a man cave there. It is about 36'x30' and has a concrete floor. One thing that I would recommend is having some rough cut boards installed on one (or more) of the walls vertically. It gives it the rustic look of an old barn and hanging deer and elk mounts on this wall looks great. I added a bar in the corner. When we put up sheet rock, the span across the room was too long and the contractor had to put a long structural beam in the middle of the ceiling. This beam was boxed in with rough cut boards and has two vertical columns supporting the beam. He boxed in these columns in rough cut boards as well. All the wood gives it a more rustic feel.

I also added a closet in one corner for most of my hunting clothing and gear. You can never have too much storage. I put in a gun safe and a refrigerator and a large screen tv. It also has central heat/AC. I found an antler chandelier to hang over the bar with lights that looks pretty cool. I have duck mounts and whitetail euro mounts hanging from the beams. I had the concrete floor painted which looks good.
Sounds awesome. We want pics, man.

My MC started out as the area under the suspended garage. We split the room. one side is the reloading are, one side is the MC.

Still a bit of a work in progress (as they always are.

I wanted a place to hang out, have an adult beverage, watch a good movie and smoke cigars.
We put a HEPA filter system above the TV and insulated the room well so that the cigar smell doesn't get into the house.

Here is mine. Shoulder mount is above the safe. Poker table, Golden Tee, and 4 screens. Still need to build a mount for my skull mounts

Looks awesome, my fist thought was too warm and inviting - might be hard to get on the gym... but then there is a lot of good motivation hanging on the wall.

Are you going to leave those wall braces exposed, or is that just a Chat GPT artifact? Never seen tbst before but it makes for a neat architectural detail.

I only mention it because I have gone through great lengths to 'hide' that big diagonal INSIDE the wall.

Had to do a double take! 🍻

I have already removed the braces. It won’t be quite like this when I’m done as I don’t think I’m going to do the couches. Probably just chairs. Also that whole wall on the left will be full of deer (I think I have 9 mounted) and ducks (probably 15 of those so far). My son as has a full body red fox plus a bunch of euros. I’m excited to get it finished.

Bit of a mess right now but it’s my man cave/reloading room/game room and I love it. 2nd story above our XL 2 car garage, around 800sf heated and cooled with a bathroom. Running out of room for taxidermy lol, there’s a few deer you can’t see from this angle.
