I have been wanting to build a man cave for a while. Plan is to build an outbuilding between 800-1000 square feet. Finally trying to make it happen this year. Priorities for me are

1. Bar
2. Flat Screen (potentially multiple) and sound system
3. Wall space to move my mounts and euros out of the house and make my wife happy.
3. Some type of recreational game/s like a pool table, pinball machines, arcade machines, dart board, etc. If possible might try to accommodate corn hole.
4. Neon signs of some sort, 80/90's babes and other nostalgia. Some type of G N R memorabilia ...which may include GNR pinball. Gun porn..but most likely not going to have guns hanging on the walls because of threat of rust and security.

Theme is going to be a mix of hunting, drinking, 80's/90's mixed in with a 80s/90s hairband feel lol. Thinking rustic barn wood interior with some cool lighting everywhere.

Looking for ideas. I am not locked in on anything. Show off some pics of yours.

Great aspirations. I raised two kids in a 24x28 cabin. My gun and leather room is 10x12. My hunting partner got a prebuilt building 12x24. Half is an exersize room and half is a reloading/gun room.

We just had this 30x30x12 built. I am almost done with electric then on to insulation and pine for the walls. The last pic is chat gpt on what it will resemble. I put outlets up high over the windows for a few neon signs. It will house most of my mounts a few tvs, pool table and home gym. Then there is also room for the duck boat.

In 1988 I added a 1000 sf Trophy Room onto my house. It is 30'x35' with 9.5' walls and a 14' open beam ceiling, and a great view of the Gallatin Valley. It has room for my pool table and a 6'x12' wet bar. Back then I only had a dozen or so big game mounts, so I thought that I had plenty of room.

With a dozen international hunts in the last 25 years, I quickly filled my Trophy Room and have also filled my Living Room...

I just recently did exactly what you are planning. Several years ago, I built a metal building with a shop in the front and a horse barn in the back. The shop ended up being nothing but junk storage so I decided to build a man cave there. It is about 36'x30' and has a concrete floor. One thing that I would recommend is having some rough cut boards installed on one (or more) of the walls vertically. It gives it the rustic look of an old barn and hanging deer and elk mounts on this wall looks great. I added a bar in the corner. When we put up sheet rock, the span across the room was too long and the contractor had to put a long structural beam in the middle of the ceiling. This beam was boxed in with rough cut boards and has two vertical columns supporting the beam. He boxed in these columns in rough cut boards as well. All the wood gives it a more rustic feel.

I also added a closet in one corner for most of my hunting clothing and gear. You can never have too much storage. I put in a gun safe and a refrigerator and a large screen tv. It also has central heat/AC. I found an antler chandelier to hang over the bar with lights that looks pretty cool. I have duck mounts and whitetail euro mounts hanging from the beams. I had the concrete floor painted which looks good.
