Magview not working well with Samsung S25 Ultra

I can't get the camera on my new Galaxy S25 Ultra to work smoothly with my Magview/ATC at all. It constantly changes lenses or goes dark even when I specify the lens and zoom manually.

Any tips? Should I download a different camera app? I have the Magview app downloaded, but it won't let me use it without giving it microphone permission, which there's absolutely no good reason to be required to do.

It wants microphone permission because of video.

Just FYI.
Ah. Dumb of me. Although sound on video of far away animals seems not that useful. But maybe I'll try it. Does their app tend to be significantly better than standard camera apps?

I only used it once and then deleted it because I didn’t find it useful. It felt like an unnecessary extra step because I was always able to get mine to work with the regular camera. I am using iPhone though. Not sure how it works on a Galaxy.

Yeah the app is the only way to go on Samsung. The regular camera app doesn't want to work well without fiddling with a bunch of settings and using a 3rd party app to disable auto lens switching. It is the way if you want to use different lenses. If you're fine using just one lens then use the magview app.

One thing I have mentioned to magview and hope they implement is the ability to do lens switching in their app. If they did that their app would be complete imo.

Do you think this issue would be improved using olin? Or would it just be the same? I experimented with the Magview app and was not impressed at all. Didn't really work any better than the normal camera app, just less adjustability.

Not sure about Ollin. The Magview app just takes time to get used to. Did you turn on the "dot" in the settings to help you line it up? Once you get a hang of it, it works well.

You can check you camera settings and see if there is a way to control the cameras. Or maybe another 3rd party app. Not an android guy so can't help you there.

No the issue is Samsungs OEM camera system and what ever intelligence, or lack of, it has that tells it to switch lenses.

The Magview app doesn't switch lenses. It only uses the one.

Bingo. Using the Magview app makes it seamless and easy. If I want to use my other lenses I will deal with the camera app until Magview enables lens switching in their own app.

Ollin locks you into one lens so it kind of alleviates the issue, but it doesn't allow you to switch between your lenses. When you have 5 rear lenses and 4 of those are usable through a spotting scope, handicapping yourself to just one kinda sucks.
