Macho men with daughters

You just wait girl dads are suckers. I have a boy and a girl and have had special moments with both but find myself being plain stupid with my daughter I mean I’ve literally dressed up as a pirate and danced in recitals and dance competitions because she just asked me. I’ll get my wife to send me the picture she talked me into wearing a wig with braided pig tails and black eye make up for recitalIMG_0022.jpeg

2 girls and 1 boy here. Girls are both 8 years older than my son and thought we were done and my wife called one day while I was at work and told me she just left a check up and was pregnant. Honestly with us both happy with 2 girls , I wasn't sure how to feel. Both girls played all the sports, hunt and fish.

I saw this video on the shoot to hunt podcast and I think every man needs to see it.

I have a 17yr old daughter and I am so proud of the young woman she has become as she makes her way in the world. sure she answers back, gets cranky and drives me absolutely bonkers some days, but I wouldn't change anything about her for the world.

The thing about parenthood is that it forces you into situations you can never prepare for. Embrace it, forgive yourself for the mistakes you will definitely make, be present and always ALWAYS lead by example.
Oh and never miss an opportunity to tell your child that you love them.

Having a baby girl has been transformative and definitely makes you think deeper about how your behavior impacts and shapes her development. On the one hand, it softened me a bit, and on the other it made me far more fiercely protective. One thing I don't want her to be is "a little version of me" - one of me is enough for the world to deal with. Of course, she will absorb what she observes, but my desire for her is to be her own person, to be able to fend for herself, not to be a little princess but to be a formidable, intelligent, and capable woman.

I am not concerned. As much as I want her to continue to develop and make new milestones…having a mobile baby just means they are into everything and you have to chase them. Being able to sit her down and she will be in the same place is pretty nice.
Yeah id rather have less mobile... no one warned me at 1 year old she would be running around the house and soon opening all the doors and cabinets.

Mine is 1.5 years old and independent as me when I was a kid, which scares me 😅

Since that post she has learned to scoot on her butt. Even as slow as that is she still is getting into things. We are short a few leaves on a house plant.
