Macho men with daughters

JFC can’t say I had anti-vax post on my jeopardy board for this thread.

Daughters are great, I’ve got a 3 and 1 year old girls (and a 7 year old son but he’s all boy) My middle one is a 3 year old version of me. Which will be awesome when she’s 20, but now right now she’s an absolute train wreck of a human being and I love (almost) every second of it. Suck it up and do the girly stuff if she wants. I play my fair share of dolls, makeup, and doing teddy bear pony’s hair. She doesn’t care if you like it, she cares if you’re there.

Enjoy the ride man, and your toes may not look quite the same on your next hunt. My buddies try giving me crap but I fully embrace it now and who says no when a 3 year old says “Daddy can I paint your toes?”
My nieces got ahold of me the night I proposed to my lady, I thought it was just going to be the toes. All the while in my head I’m planning on proposing the next day. Well they did my fingers too! And I popped the question with different colored fingers. I’m not worried. IMG_8251.jpegIMG_8785.jpeg

I have a daughter as well, 11 months old. It has been so awesome, it has made the week long hunting trips difficult to leave. The wife allows it but all I can think about is home.

Hey fellas! I just want to thank y’all for your amazing support. I was very reluctant to originally post something but this has turned into an AMAZING thread. A lot of really great and awesome advice! One thing I have learned, dad’s REALLY love their daughters!
Update: The hospital kept pressuring us to induce even though everything was looking okay. I really wanted to get past the full moon because babies like that for some reason. I went bear hunting on Sunday night (7th), night of the full moon, shot a really nice bear that I now call my Baby Bear. Got home and him taken care of, not knowing when things were gonna happen. I took a shower, crawled into bed, she couldn’t sleep, so we reviewed the pics and contractions started!
Ended being an all nighter and a next dayer, with little sleep once the baby came. Wouldn’t have it any other way though.
She’s awesome guys! Beautiful, came out bright eyed and was looking around the room minutes into it. I instantly learned her cry. I’m an expert diaper changer after 48 hrs. First 2 or 3, getting in the cresses was very weird and uncomfortable, but I’m over that. NASCAR pit crew here! My heart is bursting with joy. I was very happy that the doc let me catch her and put her on mom’s chest. Was an awesome experience! She’s truly a gift and I’m very happy I’ve made all the good and bad choices in life that has led me here!
Thanks again for all your help. I read everyone of your posts, multiple times. It really helped me on the days I was freaking out.
She’s definitely gonna change me. And it’s my job to mould/guide her! Can’t wait to see what she’s going to become. One piece of advice that really sticks out: All feelings are valid, but not all behaviors are! Wish I would have learned that sooner in life.
Cheers 🥃

Congrats! One thing my daughter has taught me over the last 12 yrs is that I have zero ability to mould her into anything but exactly what she already is! Good luck, buckle up, and welcome to the crazy train

Congratulations! Just enjoy the process, be present and try not to be to serious. They dang near tackle me when I come home from work, all 3 practically fight over it, makes all the late nights and long weekends worth it.. the time goes by quick. Mine got their first bows this year and are going to be 11. Make fun rules like no talking to boys or you’ll lock them in the basement until they’re 30.

I was the first person to change our kids diapers when they were born. Remember taking our daughter out for the day in the bush 35 years ago. She was probably 6 months old and in a baby sling in front and out 1-1/2 year old son in a backpack on my back. Riding a little Suzuki 3 wheeler. Daughter chewing pickles and son nilla wafers. On her birthdays she would request going fishing n camping with her buddies.
These days she's a professional truck driver with all her certificates. And she went to welding vo tech for 2 courses. Top of the class and certificates. She works remote camps in the arctic outside in minus 75 weather. And her motto is, nobody is done until everyone is done. So she regularly helps others get the job done, teamwork. She took her 8 year old son to archery classes yesterday. Hopefully it will work out and we can all fly out to the cabin for some moose n bear hunting. She'll be out in the canoe fishing with son for sure. And calling moose.
Pictures of us hauling fuel to the cabin and on her horse.
Yeah I'm a proud dad and be warned she carries
