Lower Brule SD hunt - Has anybody done it?

HI,

So I was lucky (?) to draw a tag to the Lower Brule indian reserve in SD for an archery deer hunt (mule or whitetail deer). I have never hunted there and I was wondering if anyone had, and what kind of advice they might have to offer.

Well, may info is older as I have not been in the area for quite some time. I had interned with the SD GFP a while back and drove through there as well as hunted coyotes just north of there. The deer where in the draws coming off the river and feeding in the ag fields next to the river. I looked at google earth, those fields are still there. I would contact the tribal wardens. They are typically very helpful it getting you pointed in the right direction. I have hunted the Cheyenne and Standing Rock reservations for turkey, just no deer. In both cases the warden's were friendly and helpful.

Always keep your stuff secured. Otherwise it should be a great hunt.
