I currently have a pair of the Zulu6 HDX Gen 2's in 10x30. I actually really like them, and mostly used for archery elk and midwest whitetail.
Does anyone also run the 16x50 HDX Pro's as part of their setup? We might be doing some more spot and stalk mule deer hunting as well as rifle elk in the future, and wondering if the 16x50's would be a good addition?

I run the 10 + 20 non pro. It's a good combo. I'd consider leaping to the 18x.

China. But man they are sweet. I have the 12x42 was just got back from looking at the craters on the moon, Saturn and some of its moons. I was just barely able to see the rings.

Thanks man! I'm considering between 12x42 and 16x50, heard the quality control of 16x50 / 16x42 are not as good, may get the 12x42 (HDX pro) then

Those 16x50 are big. I really appreciate the smaller form factor but the 16x50!has much better FOV. Depends on how you plan to use them. I’m not convinced on the negative pic quality a few people say about the 16x50 though.

Search up some of my reviews. I bought THREE pairs of the Pro models (2 18's and one 16) to compare side by side with my Gen 2 HDX 16x42. Two of the three Pro models were noticeably worse resolution than the already barely-functional optical quality of the Gen 2 HDX. One was maybe as good or a tiny bit better clarity. Not worth it for the $600+ price increase, increased size and weight, etc. All versions still suck at low light compared to normal binos.

I stuck with the 10's and 16's Gen 2. QC is all over the place, so if you can just buy a few pairs from a local retailer and test them. Return the worst ones.

Thanks for the info, appreciated!

I'd probably go for Kite APC 16*42 with a FDE colored silicon jacket. I'm mostly interested in the FDE color of the sig zulu 6 but it is really disappointing that they cannot do robust quality control. Also the Kite is sourced from Japan, which looks more trust worthy.
