An essay and $1,100 to get a gun. Unreal.

While I agree this is absurd and unconstitutional, your statement is inaccurate. This is only for the application for a CCW permit, not to purchase a firearm. This is already in a state that has several unconstitutional restrictions, so not really all that surprised.

Unfortunately, if you choose to live in a state with total liberal control, you will be subject to increasingly restrictive gun control. Don't expect any reasonable relief from the courts because guess what - the judges are all liberal too. Every road leading into Mass. has a sign that says "Mandatory one year jail sentence for gun law violations" The most sensible solution is exercise your right as an American citizen and leave the state. If you are paying attention, leave the entire Northeast. Leave them to their high taxes and gun control. If you move west, just make sure you stop before you get to California because guess what - they are a bunch of liberals too. Not saying anything that most folks on this site don't know, but it never hurts to be sure.

Not that far from me. Of all places in Mass - Lowell is one of those places you should have a gun too if you catch my drift...

Maine, NH and VT are much, much better. But the problem is all the damn Massholes and New Yorkers moving there and spoiling what's so nice about them. I would move west if I could, but much easier said than done...

Your are correct I meant CCW. For some people that is the only reason they want a firearm.
