Lowa Questions - Post em here!

Welcome aboard. Any reason the Vajolet was so short lived? I am at the point where I feel when I find one of your boots that I love I just need to buy three pairs at the same time, but as soon as I have enough miles to confirm the boot works, you've obsoleted the boot and getting my hands on another pair.

I loved my Tibet, unless it was icy and then they were darn right scary and slippery. This was a long time ago too and I recall them coming out with a newer outsole that had a material in the lugs to make them more secure in the icy conditions.

If I wanted something simlar to that boot, but lighter weight, what would you recommend I investigate? Older I get, the less I want a really stiff boot, especially at higher weight.

Good question, That one was before my time, a lot of the decision making comes from what is/isn't selling in the US market vs. our EU manufacturing/distro.

The newer vibram soles haven't had that feedback. I picked up a set of the Randir's this year, lighter than the Ranger and Tibet, but still decently stiff, I would say stiffer than my older Crispi Nevada's for sure. The renegade is a go-to standard with a moderately stiff sole, but one thing I am pushing for is more mid-stiff boots on our end.

Leather lined Ranger would be near the top of my wish list. I know Lowa had the LL Trekker and believe it was discontinued.

The discontinuation of the Baffin Pro was a bummer for me too. I'll probably replace my worn out Baffins with the LL Tibet, but it sucks when you find one you like and it goes away. I found the Baffins to be way more comfortable in the store than when I have tried the Tibet, even though they're supposedly built on the same last.

Check out the Caminos. I have them with GTX and leather lined. The leather lined are my favorite boots.

The Ranger might be a little stiffer than the Camino. I hardly wear the Rangers since I got the Caminos

@phall

I have read that the injection molded Lowas fit smaller than the others, and recommendation was to go up ½ size on these models.

Does this still hold true? I'm looking at replacing my mk1 Z6N with the mk2.

Thanks!
We do find that some customers prefer that half size on boots like our Renegade Evo vs. the Renegade, but have heard less of that on the Mk2 front.

Is the Tibet hi insulated same boot as the EVO hunter extreme?

Yes, that is the word from the factory. So far no complaints on the changes.

Been wearing the Camino for years now, I’d love a pair of the leather lined version but last I checked they didn’t make it in a wide. The LL Baffin is my go to fire boot and beats the heck out of loggers no matter what the hotshots say!

Love my ticam IIs other than they leaked and I couldn’t reach anyone to get help or even clarify the warranty, etc. I still wear them when it’s dry out.

Had good luck with my old Caminos and tibets at least though 👍

Does Lowa make a lightweight synthetic boot with a stiff sole? Comparable to the crispi colorados?

Look at the Mangart.

The Lowa Sestos were my favorite boot. Any chance Lowa will begin producing them again? Anyone have a new or like new pair of Sestos in 10.5?
