I'm interesting in Lowa boots. However, other than the Tibets, which are too stiff and more boot than I'm looking for, everything seems to be a shorter/hiker-type boot. I'm looking for a good, reasonably light boot that isn't as stiff-shanked as a Tibet, is made by Lowa, and is 8" or more tall. What are my options? I'm not seeing heights on the Lowa website, so I'm just giving them the eyeball test for height...

Not sure if what you are looking for exists. Might have a look at schnees as long as you don't have a wide foot (they are narrow). I own the lowa renegade, Tibet and hunter. My Tibet is the go to boot for archery, hunter for rifle and renegade for around town and summer hiking/backpacking.

Check out the Lowa Trekker. I have the leather lined version. Very nice boot. It has some stiffness but not nearly as stiff as the Tibet's. Make sure you put a good insole in them. The stock ones are crap.

I have the tibets. When I first got them they felt like they were carved from wood. They have gotten much better after the break in period. I'd rather have too stiff than too supple

Maybe too late but I just sent my Crispi Guide GTX's back because they were not near stiff enough for my liking. I'm keeping the Lowas and I think there barely stiff enough for my liking. Hope this helps.

Not sure how high they are but I love my Caminos.

I have caminos and tibets. VERY different boots. For light hiking, and just wearing around, the caminos are great. Very comforttable, great flex. I have carried moderate backpack loads wearing them, but only on easy terrain. They are not as tall and supportive of my ankles as the tibets. I have been VERY thankful to have had my tibets on while carrying loads on steep and uneven terrain. They have saved me from certain injury many times.

IMHO, figure out the activity and terrain requirements, and wear the appropriate boot for that trip.
