8" boot, stiff, wide toe box, narrow heel

I had the Cabelas perfekt hikers. Probably some of the best boots I had owned. When they need to be replaced, Cabelas had stop selling them. Went directly to Meindl, unfortunately not the same fit at all.
This is my concern now.
Wearing a boot to get it broke in to discover that it will never fit right.
I may have to get a couple pair to wear around the house. Hopefully that will be enough to determine a good fit.
Thanks.

Still have my Perfekt hikers but they are pretty much done now. I’ve had them for maybe 20 years. Never wore them except for hunting and I took really good care of them. I wear them now as a work boot.
If I took better care, probably could of lasted 20 as well. Dedicated yard boot now as well. Soles are starting to delaminate though. Be a sad day if I have to toss them.

Probably a good idea. For me it was the fit just wasn't right. Fit felt much looser on the news ones. Felt that the Cabelas one really hugged my feet and locked them in.

I'm going to send you a DM so If you would like to speak directly we can do so... What you are looking for is more of a combination type of last for the boot....This ultimately is the shape that is going to fit your foot much better while performing for you... Thanks
Take advantage of this. You're describing something similar to my problem feet.

One thing to remember about Meindl boots is that they recommend sizing down 1/2 size from your foot measurement. I went up 1/2 size from when I talked to them. I definitely have a lot of wiggle room in my toe box but the rest of the boot locks in pretty tight. My 3rd toe rubs just a little bit on my old perfekt hikers in a size 9. I’m going to order another pair of Meindl’s in a different series just to see if a 9 will work. Probably one of their other lightweight hikers as an everyday shoe or work boot.

I too like a boot with a narrower heel and wide toe box, and the previous generation Crispi Valdres in a wide are the best fitting, most comfortable boot I personally have owned. I normally don't wear wides, but read these ran narrower and im happy I did get the wide. Cant speak on the new Valdres, but I have heard they fit similar.
