He built it that way for the locking pin that’s on some tripod heads. It is indeed thicker. The sawtooth looks higher profile than the Area-419. Is that correct or just the picture?

If you want to be able to hook up to a tripod without taking off your bipod then the area 419 is too short. Really need around 5.5” for both for me Atleast with an atlas with rrs mount. Thanks @Lawnboi I hand carry my rifle a lot, so I don’t want an ARCA rail, but I recognize that it’s a net gain for shooting off a tripod and the ability to swap my tripod, bipod, etc.

Have you compared the Henderson to the Area-419?Don’t overlook Henderson’s hunter rail. It has the lowest profile of any of the rails I’ve used and fits the Anvil 30 perfectly. Both SRS mini rails I’ve had, slip out of the Anvil under heavy recoil.
Sorry, I may just be incompetent with website navigation: but where are you seeing the specs on both websites (other than length)? I’d like to compare them.I’ve never owned an Area 419 rail but just based off of specs from both manufacturer’s websites, the Henderson hunter rail is shorter, lighter and slimmer. Mine lock up perfectly with the Anvil and theirs is zero slippage under recoil.
Link? I don’t see it on their website.Boring Rifles came out with a pretty sleek Arca rail.
