Low grade partial biceps tendon tear

Ask your Ortho Doc at the VA if they do Platelet Rich Plasma Injections. Get a PRP injection adjacent to the tendon and then rest in a shoulder sling for one week and then start with PT. I have been doing a lot of PRP treatments and have had great results in treating chronic tendinopathy, partial tendon tears and early joint osteoarthritis. In a young guy like you PRP could really boost healing and help your tendon repair.
Thanks. I definitely need to make a list of questions for when I get there, and that will be one.

So the ortho appt was very quick. In his words, my tendon is pretty beat up but surgery is rarely needed for where it’s at and it would heal with therapy. He then said he’d get me scheduled for 2 therapy sessions. Doesn’t seem like much but I should be able to follow a plan and be fine.i still haven’t gotten notification of when PT would start, so in the meantime I decided to use chat GPT for the first time ever and had it create a rehab plan for my specific injury.

I’ve had to basically cut out all upper body exercises for the last few weeks and while the biceps tendon seems to have really calmed down, I’ve now had rotator cuff pain pop up in my right shoulder and some medial elbow pain in my left arm all while basically doing nothing for upper body. Kinda feels like I’m falling apart and every type I step back in my training intensity I develop injuries that make it difficult to increase to where I was before.

Also, I’m about two weeks in with BPC157/TB500 at 1500mg each per day. Clearly, I haven’t noticed any benefit yet, but I still have 6 weeks left with it.
