I can't believe folks are arguring over a nasty item like chili.

I am not a chili connoisseur, but my favorite canned chili is labeled “chili with beans”. I was firm in the “chili has beans” camp until I read that. Now I’m switching sides.

Also, a hot dog is a small bologna with a few more spices.

20 years ago when I was in NM hunting I asked for chili and she said "red or green"? wth?
I said "regular chili, like Nalleys". They all got a kick out of that.

I had to look up Nalleys. I’ll try to find a can and give it a taste. We’ve always been a stagg chili family. I’ve never had a home made chili taste any better. Equal, sure, but not better. I’ve also judged at multiple chili cook-offs. Anyone that thinks they can make better, pm me and I’ll send my address for you to submit samples.

Are you kidding?! Stew is meat and vegetables in liquid, beans are a vegetable. Chili is meat, seasoning, and beer. There is no alternative.

Beans belong in stew like identifiable meat belongs in hotdogs. Meat. Vegetables (beans are legumes or pulses, not vegetables) stock, seasoning. That's stew.
