I love when I go out of service, and come back to a thread that has picked up 6 pages in 8 hours, still not boal thread status, that was a page every 10-15min, but still.

If your chili doesn't have beans, it's just meat stew.

Its gotta come with chili farts to be chili.

Correct. Red bean chile needs...beans. Where do some of you guys get your salsa? New York City?!

I do have a stellar recipe I use for New Mexican style red chile without beans but it's the exception not the rule.

Are you kidding?! Stew is meat and vegetables in liquid, beans are a vegetable. Chili is meat, seasoning, and beer. There is no alternative.

I am not a chili connoisseur, but my favorite canned chili is labeled “chili with beans”. I was firm in the “chili has beans” camp until I read that. Now I’m switching sides.

Also, a hot dog is a small bologna with a few more spices.
