I grabbed this R700 SPS Tactical in .243 with a 16.5” barrel from a LGS last Winter.
Threw a TT Special in it, a can and an SWFA 5-20 with a DNZ Tactical base. It’s sitting in a B&C Tactical stock with pillars I believe.

During my breakdown, then re-assembly of the rifle… The accuracy has taken a noticeable hit. As you’ll see, these groups are from 115 yards. I’ll get 2-3 good shots, then #4-5 are bad flyers.
2 different ammunition types- Federal 85gr TSX & Hornady Superformance 95gr SST’s.

Shots taken off bags with a 1.5# trigger. I’m normally good for about 1” for 5 at 100.

I’m thinking action screws aren’t tight enough?
Any other suggestions?

You did a lot of stuff so you just need to work through it all. Torque and locktite the action screws and all the scope screws. Make sure the barrel is free floated. If you do all of that and it still does not shoot try shooting without the can. I have never had an issue with a can but you just need to try to eliminate all the variables.

Nice looking rig, coming from someone who doesn't like 700s. I have no clue on the cure.
IMG_4862.jpegThank you. I saw this rifle at the gun shop and knew immediately it was coming home with me lol and I wasn’t a 700 fan at the time. I’m now obsessed with them for some reason.

Kinda my concern. I know 100% it was something that I did, because it shot sub MOA with the SST’s when I bought it

That actually makes it easier. You have the advantage of a baseline so you just need to work backwards. If the ammo is the same just work backwards. Degrease all hardware, locktite, torque properly. Since you have a baseline of it shooting good just work back.
