I had a great time up in unit 50 on my first archery elk hunt. Glassed some great bulls after hiking in a ways but no dice in the end. I've tried looking around on Idaho fish and game sight but I'm having trouble finding info on then November muzzle loader hunt , other then the dates.

I would like to make the drive out if it's worth it. By that I mean if it's possible to get after them on public ground. I would even consider a reasonable trespass fee if you know of one? I'm looking for any help that can help me decide on whether to load up and leave the family. I'd love to go after any elk. It looks like it's a antlerless hunt?
Thanks again

You can hunt all of Unit 36A and Unit 50, so you can hunt right where you archery hunted if you want.

It is an antlerless hunt. Seems that quite a few locals hunt it, so the farther you can hike from the road, the better. It's COLD in that country during that time of the year, so I would plan on probably camping at your vehicle unless you are fully dialed in on cold weather backpacking gear.

Make sure you have a legal muzzleloader, Idaho has pretty strict laws about them.

Ok, so I guess that public land will be ok? it's about a 17 hour drive for me. So I'll mull it over. Thank you
