Debating on getting an anchor brake. Anyone shoot with and without one notice a decent difference in recoil?

I’ve also been considering this or a Dead Air Ebrake for my nomad. I’m intrigued. I can’t find any good videos showing reductions in recoil.

I have two Silencerco omegas, one with an end cap and the other with an anchor brake. I don’t really notice much of a difference between them……but I’m also using them on an AR15. On some thing bigger than 556 there might be a noticeable difference.

I have and use the anchor brake on my .270 and .300 WSM, it does make a noticeable difference. Less so on smaller calibers.

I have an anchor brake, and have one of these coming today. Will report back on findings, but most on SH say this is way better at recoil reduction than the anchor brake. It is longer and a bit heavier though.

I'm curious why it would be more effective than an anchor brake. It doesn't have more port area or surface. I wonder if that results in higher pressure gas on the ports in comparison?

It is twice the length and around 1 oz heavier. I'm sure the volume of gas through the deeper ports vs how much volume exits the muzzle plays into it.

Let me know how it goes. I want something for my Nomad, but am skeptical their E-brake will do much.

I did a side by side comparison of the anchor brake vs a flat end cap on my Omega 300. The rifle I used was my 300 Win Mag that weighs 9lbs total. The difference is not just noticeable, it’s considerable. Much less muzzle jump and quite a bit less felt recoil.

Did you notice any difference in noise between the flat end cap and the anchor brake?

Mine came in the mail on Monday and I hope to test it out soon. Have flat cap, anchor brake, recoil X AND a tbac RR to compare to.

What's your real world verdict on effectiveness between them?

I have since sold the recoil X original and bought the new competition one with the angled ports but I do sort of recall testing the ones I mentioned. Recoil X and Tbac RR are similiar - would say RR has a slightly quicker impulse but the recoil x felt a touch softer. Both styles beat the standard anchor brake by quite a bit.

Agreed
