looking for feedback on waterproof backpacks

How are you using it or what are you looking to carry? Might consider a cheaper roll top dry bag with backpack straps. I have one from Amazon for fishing, works fine.

Alaska guy here, I have watershed dry bags. Milsurp ones are affordable on eBay, bombproof bags with the ability to inflate/deflate them after they’re sealed up. I have two of their backpacks and a rifle dry bag. Been using em in southeast Alaska for 4 years now.

What are you needing the waterproof bag for? Are you making like a blind bag?

If you are looking for something completely waterproof Barney's makes one that I believe is Waterproof and Wrangell Gear Company. But they are going to be expensive - these are frame pack designs.

Are you hauling decoys? Or what is the primary consideration? I waterfowl hunted in Juneau, AK on the wetlands in a quintessential rainforest and just looking to wrap my head around use.

Though your Ketchikan guy is from the only rainier place I know of then Juneau - @Andrewdk

I’m in a similar situation. I usually run and gun in the marsh. Carry 6-10 decoys and one or two spreaders. I can’t decide a comfy decoy bag or a fancy carry all. I also have an old hiking backpack that I’m thinking of just spray painting camo or get a camo cover for it. Here’s some bags I’ve looked at. I definitely want to be able to carry a gun in my setup.

Here’s what I’ve ended up with after messing with the things I have. Arc Bora 65 with weapon, ammo, decoy spreader, three Texas rigged mallards and four woodies for the spreader. I’m at 27lbs fully loaded. That A20 is long and heavy and will be usually shooting a 20g wingmaster. I bought a leafy cover for the backpack. Hope to get out Monday before the kids are all out of school.

I’ve had great luck with Patagonia Guide series. Taken all over Montana/idaho/alaska/virgin islands. No leaks.

Cheaper and slightly less submersible waterproof but good for 98%

Does your whole kit attach to this bag? How many decoys? Do you keep the decoys in the bag? Carrying your gun?
