I've decided I need a good vise for loading room.

The plan is to anchor a plate to the concrete floor and have a pipe come up with another plate on top that I can attach the vise.

I'd like a vise or system that will do everything. Rifles, Hand gun . Cleaning, scope mounting or barrel swapping, painting or whatever I might need to hold a gun for.

What's the ideal vise?

Check out Total Vise. They're a sponsor here, and while I haven't purchased one myself yet, they seem an improvement over other gun vises on the market. I've got a Real Avid that, in theory is great, but hasn't performed as well as I'd like. Total Vise looks like it would be an upgrade.

Thanks
I've been looking at their vise after hearing it mentioned on one of the podcasts. They do look good but then I don't know much about what a good vise would look like.

Looks like they are located not far from me. Next time I'm down that way I'll try a stop in and look their system over.
