Cabelas has the Vortex Ranger 1000 for $299 right now. Kind of hard to beat at that price. I really like the illuminated reticle.

$299 is the new price set by Vortex. You should be able to buy it anywhere that carries them for that price.

Thanks for all the info guys. I ended up getting a sig kilo 850 for $169. So far it seems to be what I wanted. It ranges rocks and trees to 600 pretty well but haven't tried it on animals yet. It's really fast though. The yardage with compensation is in the view before I can let the button go. I like that! It's really light and compact but that's compared to my old Leica 1200. After using it this coming week I'll try to remember to post an update.

SWFA has Sig Kilo 2000's for $349.99. Hard not to pass up, even with a new Vortex en route that likely won't even get opened.
