Looking for 200gr ~2850+ Out of a 22" Barrel - What 30cal Cartridge?

Seems you've got a good handle on 300wsm capabilities. My primary load in a factory 23" xbolt with h4831 and 200eldx @2.9" COAL is around 2840 FPS. With a longer throat, COAL, RL23 or RL26, and shorter bearing surface bullet like 200.20x berger I think it's reasonable to expect 2850 FPS.

I have a Tikka 300 WSM stock barrel (wanted to wait and see what speed I finished at before cutting down to 20”) so 24.3” I think.
I’m shooting Berger 200.20x at 2760 fps because it was too accurate there to push faster. I took it up over 2850 with no pressure signs in 60 degree temps, while I was still sun moa it shoots so much better at 2760 so I loaded up for season and long range drop verification. That was all H4350, I have H4831sc, IMR 7828 and RL26 to try after I have it cut down and TI pro break installed.

What are you getting for a COAL with the 200.20x? I'm wondering if I'll be able to run them at AICS magazine length or if I'll have to move that action to a stock and use longer mags.

Do you already own the Tikka? If not you need to get over that and look hard at a Zermatt Origin or the ARC Coup de Grace ($900) and if you go king action might as well go 300 PRC. You simply have more flexibility vs the WSM. Although I do think long throated WSMs are cool you won’t have to worry about meeting your goals handedly with the PRC.

Thanks for the info. I bought 500 of the 200.20x to use in a factory barrel. Looks like I'll be back to a stock instead of the chassis. Plans are a switch barrel 6.5 PRC and 300 WSM "truck gun" to drag around the state with me.
