Longer .223 Tikka mag option

@Fireflyfishing , your pictures make me think that maybe the mag well in the krg stock is longer than in a Tikka stock. Maybe try putting some built up layers of tape or some epoxy on the rear of the mag to see if that helps. If it doesn't work you could sand the epoxy off.

Also, if you decide to go with a different mag I might be open to buying one from you.

Since these are printed, it would seem easy enough for them to tweak the file and build up that area of the mag a bit. They'd probably need their own Echo to do this (not sure how popular it is either, so may not be a problem that they see worth solving).

I shot with the ascension mag a lot more yesterday. I noticed that I occasionally get a round that hangs up for a fraction of a second when cycling. I'm 95% sure it is the case mouth hitting the front mag lip as I'd mentioned earlier. If I were to try to cycle the bolt gently, I think it may be a problem. But since I was running it like I meant it, it was more like a solid "bump" when going through that portion before the cartridge exited the mag.

Does anyone have any suggestions for solutions? Maybe filing a bevel into the front mag lip edge so that it's not a 90* angle the case mouth hits?

I was asked about this issue. I got my gun out and the bullets hit the feed ramp and start raising before the case mouth would engage the magazine.

Is that with a certain COL? I forgot to mention, I was shooting 2.26 col rounds... Perhaps a longer col wouldn't do what mine did

Hello Everyone,

I made an account here on Rokslide and I appreciate everyone’s response to the product. I am currently working on revisions to make this work in the KRG Echo stock and will update everyone (and a youtube video update) when I have the kinks worked out. I do appreciate everyone’s support.

Welcome. You might consider a sponsorship here. Lots of Tikka folks.

@AdamAscensionIndustries,
Welcome to the ‘slide! There are many of us Tikka lovers here. Myself and others have told others here about your mags. I need to order one.

I ordered two magazines from Adam and just wanted to say how great he was to deal with. Had a shipping delay so he tossed in an extra mag kit even though I told him it was no problem. Found this thread after experiencing the same issues with the KRG echo so looking forward to what solution is found. Awesome product and a great guy!

I forgot to mention, I used an Ascension mag for 75gr bthp at 2.26col for 75rds or so last weekend. I didn't have a single hiccup. It seems to work just as well as the factory mag so far.

There goes the neighborhood!

No dog in the fight. Adam’s mags are all we use. I can actually load into the lands and still feed without impediment.

Sold my Waters Rifleman and MT.
