what's your go to store/website for all things long range hunting/precision shooting for your "DIYer" gun builder if you were to piece everything together? does one exist?
awesome, thanks. I will check that out. Have never pieced one together before, would like to maybe build up a 7prc we'll see how doable that is being so new.Currently piecing together my third rifle and I will usually buy straight from the manufacturer on the major parts such as action, barrel, stock and bottom metals. For ancillary items, Altus, Redhawk, and OTM are good places to shop. I would say that Altus Shooting Solutions would be one of the top vendors for one stop shop for long range.
awesome! yeah will definitely leave that to the professionals, would like to go with a lighter weight action with integral scope bases and recoil lug and 24-26" proof barrel. and then the whole stock decision haha. interested to see all the load data coming out see if 3000 fps with hunting weight bullet would be possible with a 22" barrel? idk guess we'll see what people come up with.I think finding brass for that cartridge may be challenging, but eventually it will be available. If you do piece one together, I would highly recommend Marc Solie at Spartan precision rifles for the smith work. His work was recommended to me by a guy at McMillian. He is awesome to work with, great guy. You can also do a Proof Research prefit, just may not be able to throat it for the bullet you would like to shoot.
preciate it man, thanksOff the top of my head, it sounds like the AntiX from Defiance machine may fit what you are looking for. You can also buy these actions from Altus shooting, as well as the proof barrel, and almost everything else you may want. I love talking rifles, so if ya have any question I can answer, im happy to help or tell ya it's out of my know base.
