I found a LMM Duramax online that has around 200K miles. It has no mods, tunes, or deletes, and is even running the stock exhaust. The truck was a highway queen, and the service records indicate regular tranny and diff changes from around 100k miles forward. It also had the door lock and actuator warranty fixes completed.

For you guys that have or are running a LMM Duramax, do you have any regrets or suggestions re: potential problems and negotiations?

I have one. It’s a 2008 2500hd skort box. I only have 170,000 on it. Mines deleted and tuned also put on a lift pump, never had issues with the tranny or tunes. Now I have been on hot days towing heavy will drain my fuel rail. Could be a few different things lots of people point fingers at injectors for this. There is some rubber fuel lines that could possibly collapsing under heavy load too. So I would ask about injectors, if they have ever been done. Also it will proably need the cooling stack cleaned. They are a solid truck with few issues but usually nothing crazy if taken well care of. But with 200,000 plus thousand expect some maintenance, and repairs being needed.

I've got a 2008 2500. Was a work truck for a custom farm outfit I worked for. Put the first 90k on it pulling heavy, often over the rating. Lots of rough off road use. It's been mostly a highway truck pulling light loads from 90k through the 275k on it now. Just took it on a 3000 mile roadtrip to elk hunt. Solid truck, no tranny issues, injector or motor problems. Have done normal stuff, bearings, fuel lines, fuel sending unit in tank, thermostats, couole sensors, most of the front end is on its 1st replacement part. About every 18 months will go into limp and need manual regen. EGR clogged up once. All stock, zero mods still original exhaust no deletes or tuner.

Keep an extra fuel filter on hand and should be good to go.

I only drive 15k a year now, so it should last another 5 years or so before rust starts to be an issue. It's never seen the inside of a garage, always parked outside.

Sounds great man, and that's the kind of reliability I'm looking for

Here she is, rust-free one-owner TX truck. 2009 Silverado 2500HD LTZ LMM with Rancho 4” lift and interior is immaculate. Has some minor rock chips I’m gonna get fixed, and it’s scheduled for rustproofing next week.

EDIT: If anybody is looking for low-normal miles pre-def diesel, don't look any further than Diesels of Houston. Lee is an incredible person that happens to sell trucks. He is an honest no BS guy whose reputation means everything to him, and he will make sure that you are absolutely satisfied with your purchase. Hell's bell's, i'm from Western Iowa and bought a truck from him if that means anything. Great guy, excellent vehicle, and good deal all around. For guys that like the older stuff, he even has some sweet no-rust 1990s F250s with 7.3's.
