After installing the adapter and inserting a 209 primer, I found that the hammer hit the edge. While this would work fine, I didn't want to possibly damage my hammer.

6 years ago I removed the drum and put anti seize on it for easy removal/adjustment down the road. It was no trouble, slightly backing out the drum just the slightest, to get correct alignment.

I have plenty of #11 caps, but also, have a ton of 209 primers, so why waste my #11 caps shooting at paper?

Any noticeable difference in reliability between the #11 caps and 209 primers? Just have a modern in-line muzzy for now but would be interested in a more traditional hawken style in the future

Personally, I shoot real black powder with cci #11 caps and a hang fire or no fire is a very rare thing.

The 209 set up is strictly for range use as it's a slow process to recap after a shot. The more you remove the cap, especially in the field, the more likely you'll end up dropping it and not find it

The adapter though is a good set up, just not my taste for hunting use due to the reasons mentioned.

I too shoot swiss and use #11's or muskets to hunt with....but it's nice to have options.
