Lightweight early season pants

Just looking for opinions on early season pants. I have some Kuhl's and love the fit and most everything about them, only problem is there kinda noisy. In the past I've ran prana stretch Zion and didn't like the fit as good as kuhl but they were quieter. Wouldn't be against a hunting bland but definitely not a requirement. Probably just looking for earth tones so camo isn't an issue either. Money isn't a huge issue but I feel some of the hunting brands u pay a bit for the name, but I probably would pay a decent chunk if someone has a good option.

Tey the Tiburon from KUIU. The hip zip vents are a must once you've used them.

I have purchased some expensive pants, but keep going back to good old BDUs until it gets below 40 degrees, then I switch to Timberlines. Having all the pockets and overall toughness at a low price makes BDUs a steal and also most usable.

My favorite early season pants are the unita pants from SKRE amazing how much air flows though the fabric and they also have hip vents when you really want to dump the heat.

I used and abused Kuiu Tiburons this summer and early fall sheep scouting and boy are they ever nice for warm to hot weather! They breath and dry extremely well. For how thin they are they held up super well and are quiet through brush. As mentioned above the pocket and hip vents are super nice. I am slowly but surely converting my pants from Sitka to Kuiu because the Kuiu's fit my body profile a lot better....no saggy crotch area and the pants actually are lengthy over my boots! The Tiburons are so light that you hardly know you have pants on!

this is my suggestion as well; the fit is good allowing one to get over/under/around dense blowdown, it has good dwr repelling light moisture, I like the two roomy cargo pockets and deep front pockets

I find they actually work pretty well later in the season with the right base layer

If you run hot.. the tibs are your answer. If you don't run hot and maybe the sitkas, but the tibs are by far the best hot weather pant you can own.

I'll revise my suggestion on the Ascents- for HOT weather, they wouldn't be my choice- for early season (mountains) they're fine- cool mornings/warm afternoons

for HOT weather I like OR Ferossi pants and even better their shorts

I like the Tiburons a lot. They’re probably the most breathable on the market, especially with the hip vents

For a cheaper option, I’ve used the Tactical Distributiors Neptune pants this past summer. Very breathable and fast drying. Held up to thorns and brush very well. Good full fit through the seat and thighs. Good earth tone options. They’re on sale a lot too. Only downside for some would be that the one cargo pocket is very small

Mr. Warden.... you are correct. I read his post and coming from CA when I hear early season.. I hunt in July... so its hot

early season west hunts in late august-sept I used the kuiu alpine and would have no issue using my older sitka ascent pants for this kind of hunt. I am just a huge fan of the side zips on the kuiu pants.

Wrangler Outdoors pants are the best bang for the buck i've found. 21.99 at every Walmart i've been too. They're light, dry super fast, and durable. They have a nice waist band, and enough belt loops to actually hold up your pants. They come in green, brown, tan, and gray. Give them a shot, and if you don't like them, you're only out 22 bucks instead of close to 100 with hunting specific brands.

I second the Eddie Bauer guide pants. Perfect for early season. Have DWR coating and a few zipper pockets and can easily be had for sub $40 during their sales. I’ve been on a few hunts with them and have zero tears or issues and at that cost can go through a few pairs before you even come close to the expensive stuff.
