I have a VX6 and I want to make clear I have so far not had any issues myself.
But, I have friend who has had a complete train wreck with his first one and now the replacement is also no good. He wasted a lot of money thinking his rifle didnt shoot, until we swapped scoped and confirmed again it was the scope. Leupold confirmed both scopes were bad and are replacing it with a scope of his choosing.
I have mine on my 28 Nosler and its been good so far. My concern is am I one shot away from my scope breaking?
Has anyone else experienced this with VX6?
Im told the issue is the double spring system vs single spring that is causing issues? I have no clue how or what that is.
Last week I shot a bull elk at -30F, dragged the rifle crawling through snow, dialed and the shot went where it was suppose to.
As far as environmentals it doesnt get much harsher than that.
Do I worry for nothing? 2 bad scopes in a row is that just the ultimate bad luck and mine is fine??
Im seriously thinking of selling it and buying another nightforce. I own 2 SHV, 2 NXS, 2 ATACR and a Competition model and none have ever failed me.
Thanks for the for the feedback!

Trust leads to confidence! If I lose trust in something I move one. You got to ask yourself, are you going to trust it so you don’t think about what ifs! If not, well you got your answer.

Sounds like you asking for a problem that doesn’t exist at least for you. I have a couple Leupolds I have had since the 70’s and they still preform well. I have a couple VX5 HDs that have served me well for several years. Im not saying Leupold is the best or one of the best but they work and if they break Leupold takes care of you.

The problem does exist as they are now making Gen2 VX6. Others are having issues as well. Im not interested in waiting till it fails in the middle of a hunt. I put it up for sale.

Get rid of it. It will let you down! My vx-6 3-18 cost me a great mule deer in Montana last season. Lost zero 5.5 inches high at 100. Sucks because the glass is amazing, but that leads me here and it’s crazy how many people have the same problem.
