Heavy and slow all day (147/143 eld/eldx), that being said the 140 grain American Gunner was by far the best SD and group size I ever got from any rifle in 6.5. Insane how accurate that round was for the price.

After looking at my Hornady app, the 143/147's and 130's are within 50 fps of each other after 500, but the heavies don't pass the lighters up within the expansion window. Both hit 1800 fps between around 800-850 yards depending on muzzle velocities. For me that's plenty of range for hunting - unless you're wanting more "wallop" factor or wanting to push out to 1000 yards (which I am not ready to do).
Yep, duds will be fuds or whatever
They probably need to do some calcs on the mid range trajectory and wind calls

I’ve been getting such foot accuracy with the 140 ELDM that I’m not really looking for anything else. I’ve shot a lot hammer hunters and 130/140g accubonds (I still have lots of them) but I can’t see using anything other than the 140eldm or 143eldx right now. IF I was going to switch things up, I guess I’d try the 130g TMK.

All things being equal I’d prefer a TMK over an eldm. But not many factory loads for a 130 TMK.

There are some factory loaded 140 TMK made by federal but not much out there about them. They may be the ticket to get some heavier TMKs. But I have nothing to back that up.

Yall got me thinking about trying 130 TMKs this year.

My 6.5 Creedmoor is going to be a beast. It’s getting a 20” CTR contour Bartlein barrel.

I voted heavy as that's the norm for me.

Imo the Creed really shines with 130s as they split the difference and don't give up much at all inside of 600.

We, myself included tend to get wrapped up in bc but if you do the math a vld type 130 is a pretty efficient bullet.

I'd be loading the 130 hybrids over some H4350. I'd do it in my current creed but came upon a 500 round box of 140 hybrids at a great price recently.

I have a new Tikka 6.5 Creed. I bought 130 Tmk’s and 147 Eldm’s to start load dev….cant wait to shoot

Like with most things in life, a nice balance is where you should be at. I do skew fast/light with copper pills though.

I shot all 147eldm last year and it shot really well out to 600 yards. Shot a buck with that bullet, good results.

But I have 300 130tmk from loading for a Swede. So I’m gonna load those up and see how they shoot in my 6.5CM

For those of you who like the 147 ELDm, I'll add a bit of info from last year, in a PRC so just a tad faster.

My BIL shot a NM cow elk at 315 yards tight to the shoulder with a slight quartering away angle. The ole girl ran about 20 yards and dropped. We recovered the bullet under the skin on the off side shoulder, it weighed 108 grains.

I switched from 130 VLDH to 130 TMKs this year. Shot 3 whitetail with them but never got to try them on an elk. I did get probably the best blood trail I’ve ever had on a deer although it was only about a 50 yard shot.
