My 3 year old vx6hd reticle is canted. I ran it on my tikka 300 wm with a brake and found the issue when i was mounting it on my new rifle. I never fell on it and didn't even send 2 boxes of ammo through it. I dig everything about it as for specs go and the CDS system but I am forced to move on from leupold. I have read plenty on leupold issues and it sounds like they simply can't handle recoil.

I'm leaning toward Nightforce 2.5-20 NX8 SFP. My question is, has anyone heard of or seen issues with Nightforce? There's probably 10 leupolds to 1 nightforce out there so im sure theres going to be more issues but hoping for unbiased feedback..

I'm pretty unemotional when it comes to brands. I've had issues with Leupold in the past so I've moved on. I have not owned a Nightforce, but would absolutely buy one over a Leupold. They are pretty universally recommended as one of the most reliable, durable scopes. A great source of infor is the rifle scope field evaluations in the long range sub of this forum. A few links below.

Spoiler alert: The Leupold's failed and the Nightforce's passed.

yea I've certainly noticed the emotions folks have with their favorite brands! thanks

Another option: I just picked up a Trijicon Tenmile and I have been pretty happy with it so far. Seems to have held up well in the field evals.

I dumped all my Leupolds off my high recoiling rifles and switched them out with Nightforce and couldn’t be happier, about a month ago I bought a NX8 2-20 F2, you won’t be disappointed if you go that route it’s one heck of a scope, I have zero regrets and say when something sucks regardless of what it costs, I see another one in my future real soon. Dialing a Leupold in on a new rifle is like playing Plinko on ”The Price is Right” most times, wait until you try the Nightforce you will understand why everyone is pushing them so hard. I still love my old, simple, ultralight, Leupolds on my set and forget deer rifles but all my new stuff is getting Nightforce from here on out..
yea man, that same scope is what i'm after. What made you decide the 2.5-20 over the 4-32?

Seems that Leupold has become the same punching bag in scopes that Vortex has in bino's. I have at least 25 Leupold scopes on rifles from moderate to serious heavy recoil(458Lott, 505 Gibbs, 470NE, 300RUM) and on seriously heavy recoiling revolvers and TC pistols...narry a problem with any of them, ever. I guess when you are a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
