Leupold Scope Durability

How tough/durable are Leupolds? Damn Browning safe has a poor design on the door for holding scoped rifles. Plastic tabs to hold barrel in place warped and when I opened safe my 30 06 fell and landed smack dab on top turret on garage floor. No mark on turret cap surprisingly, turret twisted just fine and reticle inside seems normal. No visible damage but still “wondering” if the scope’s internals are damaged.

Are Leupolds tough? VX5HD is my scope.

Didn’t you JUST get this scope?!

I can only speak of their mil spec line, but they (we have done a few tests) are torture tested and almost always have passed. I’m talking pound in a tent stake (gotta be Marine proof) type tests.
I think you will be ok, but as you know, test fire for zero, then dial and measure

I would say your fine. I’d still shoot it to make sure the zero is still good and I would post your results so others know. But I have flown with leupold scopes never had an issue. Also slip and fell once and smacked my gun and it was still good. My cousin dropped his from a tree and it still was zero’d.

They don't like to be dropped or banged on anything. So...go shoot it and see if it held zero. If it did...you're good. If not...well then adjust it and check frequently for zero retention.

Sorry folks I need to clarify I just mounted this scope so it has only been bore sighted. I will do initial sight in at range. I was more concerned about internal damages vs losing zero. Everything appears to be fine.
