I feel like every time I get back from a hunt or shooting I need to update this thread just to document how this scope is doing. Went out a couple weeks ago to scout, didn’t see much so decided to try a cold bore shot just before I hiked out.

Fast fwd to this weekend, took my wife out on a deer hunt. Logged about 45 miles with the gun strapped like so to my pack bungee’d onto the front rack of the wheeler. Plus a couple falls one on a steep side hill where I lost both my feet to slick grass and somehow pinched the rifle between my face and the ground with all my body weight. Put a nice hole in my cheek with the ckye pod foot and banged up my wrist a little. All before she shot a deer with it at 215 yards. Photo of my cheek for a good laugh, luckily I didn’t catch it in the throat or neck.

On my way out to do a 10 shot group to see how it’s held up. Will update once I do that.
Really putting in the effort to prove this scope works. I thought dropping it on the ground was sufficient but really appreciate you going the extra mile. Blood sweat and tears it is

I figure there’s worse ways to spend time plus I’m genuinely curious when or if it’s going to outright fail.

Promising. I wish somebody would send one to @Formidilosus to test.

Not the same power but a Mark 4.

I thought I’d give one last update on this since our rifle hunts are all but over. Since the last update this scope has been used to harvest an elk, another mule deer and 2 wolves at ~310-600 yards. Hoping to get out after more wolves this winter but will likely be a bit before that happens. I have not changed or moved anything on this rifle setup since setting it up early this summer. It has genuinely surprised me, if for no other reason than reading on here how unreliable Leupold scopes are. This thing has been rode hard and put away wet as they say, I cannot say I have 3k rounds on it but I know for sure I’m north of 2k between the 6.5 and GT. Time will tell if it will fail in the near future.

Good deal. I have one that has been sitting on the shelf since summer. I will get it set up on a rifle and see if I can replicate your results. I will post my findings once it is done. Appreciate ya.

Drop test of the Leupold Mark4HD 6-24 was performed today with sub optimal conditions utilizing a sub optimal drop surface. This test will be performed again once weather conditions clear up and the correct drop pad is utilized.

Weather conditions: 23F with lack of consistent visibility at 100 yards. The test was constantly interrupted due to lack of target visibility and the aiming points were not clearly visible at all times during this test.
IMG_1564.jpeg

Drop Surface: The ground was was frozen. The bottom pad is around 1/4” and was frozen solid as well as being frozen to the ground. The top shooting pad is also 1/4” thick.
IMG_1577.jpeg

Rifle: Terminus Zeus QC action, proof barrel, Rokstok, M5 bottom metal, atlas bipod, and a thunderbeast suppressor. A 22” 6.5 creedmoor barrel was screwed on for this test. The rifle/optic was assembled correctly and torqued to spec along with using nail polish/thread locker.
IMG_1559.jpeg

Zero- 5 sighter shots were fired. Shifted .1 mils down and .5 mils right. Once the turrets were slipped a 20 shot zero was fired to create a baseline.
image_cropper_1157A89D-B381-46E8-BA2A-4414FA8BD4C3-3120-0000117EA77252EC.jpeg

Return to Zero: the elevation turret was dialed up/down 25 mils 10 times and then a 5 round group was fired to confirm.
IMG_1574.jpeg

Drop Test: There was nothing out of the ordinary as far as a POI shift until I got to the last 3 36” drops on all sides of the optic. Most of the time when the 36” drops were performed the rifle bounced off the pad and landed onto the frozen ground. It sounded like I was dropping the rifle on asphalt. The last 3 shots clearly shifted erratically from the drops and the last 10 shot zero confirmation shifted up by 1mil. This test will be performed again with the correct drop surface used.

Rifle looks badass!. Thanks for sharing your results. I really would like to standardize the pad material so these tests could be dropped on Concrete and have more similarity to each other.

Real nice looking rifle. Is that the Suiu pattern?

Thanks for posting your results. Have you tested you proofed the rifle before with another scope, or is this the first run?

You can use a Dollamur wrestling mat on any surface because it will not fully compress.

It is Kuiu Vias pattern that Unknown did. By Suiu do you mean Kuiu?
