Hello all! Looking into the VX line of Leupold scopes and wondering where the best deals are? Don’t really see any sales on them and most everywhere has them listed for the same price. Anywhere I could be directed to save a few dollars? Thanks!

Find the model number you want and punch it in at gun.deals and go from there. Battle Hawk Armory or Locked Loaded are my go to’s. Gun Zone Deals too.

I would be leary of Gun Zone Deals. They charged me an $80 restocking fee for a scope I returned immediately. They will never see another dime from me.

Their return policy is not super friendly like Amazon, if you are buying sight unseen and there's a chance you'll return. That said they do have competetive prices on a lot items with no tax (at least for my state)

Yeah you better want what you are buying if you buy from a drop shipper. On the other hand, a large popular brick and mortar dealer on here told me this week there’d be a 10% ($100) restocking fee on a new return because I took the plastic off. I kept it and sold it at a little bigger loss, out of spite.

I’ll duck now.

How could anyone expect a seller to return a used product without a stocking fee? They no longer get to sell it as new? Are they supposed to just take it back at a loss since the buyer decided it wasn’t what they wanted? I’m not being a wise guy. But, I always wander about that.

It’s been my belief that if sellers didn’t have to deal with these customers regularly, their prices would be lower. It takes man power to tailor to customers wants. On the phone, email, etc…. Then to have all that tied up in a no sale makes overhead tough to meet.

Just my thoughts. Not trying to derail the thread or get an argument started. I ain’t going to argue about it anyways. Just curious why its become normal to do such things.

I agree with you but those types of things are accounted for in margins at most large retailers. The biggest caveat from drop-shippers is that you better want to keep what you paid bottom dollar for. Midway and Amazon couldn’t care less if something is returned in plastic wrap or not. Customer is always right.

Also, for me I can’t try many optics that cost over a couple hundred bucks because nowhere within a couple hundred miles or more has anything.

I buy things and return them all the time and don't encounter a ridiculous restocking fee to that degree.

I'd never buy a scope from any of those merchants. You have stores like Camera Land NY that have been in business for generations and have NEVER had a BBB complaint. That's downright miraculous. All of those vendors have a substantial history of BBB complaints. Natchez SS has been in business for a long time and has very few BBB complaints. When you read through the complaints, and the merchant response to complaints, you can get a feel for what kind of vendor you are dealing with.

Often Camera Land has the best price. When they don't, they will often match others prices, and do so without hassle. I won't support vendors with a lot of negative history and shady practices to save a few bucks.

His site is PredatorOptics.com. His site has the brands he sales. You send him a message on the site with the scope item number and scope. He is quick to get back.

For example I was looking at the Vx 5 line. I have two fire dots and went with the wind plex reticle. So I asked if he had 171715 (found on the Leupold website). He got back to me and the scope was close to 200 less then what’s on their website. I’ve bought 4 scopes from him and a pair of range finding binoculars. He has saved me so much money. I’d look up his site and send a message if it were me. Scope was at my house less then a week after I messaged him.
