Those Seiko 5s look great. Post a picture when you get it

Been around for 140 years. The older stuff was better imo. Company was sold about 10 years ago to a pe firm….you know how that goes. They sell watches from 3-4k to almost 100k. Modern day, very big and loud Jewery imo.Seems to be a lot of knowledgable people here on watches. I've always wanted a nicer watch at some point but never really cared for Rolex. I've always liked the look of several Breitling models though. Are they any good? Any particular models stand out? Things/options to look for? Thanks.

Amazing watches both the explorer and pelagos.@bowhuntercoop How did I miss the 114270 being offered?!
The Explorer, especially in 36mm, has such a great form factor to it. Being able to slide under layers and gloves easily is a huge plus over a diver. I'd love to own one some day.
Outside of the Explorer, I believe the Pelagos 39 is as ideal as a Swiss tool watch can be. This one has already been on one sheep hunt, with many more adventures to come.

A Pelagos 39 GMT w/ date would beAmazing watches both the explorer and pelagos.
I’ve come to terms over the years I much prefer a date haha. Idk how many time I look at my watch for a date and when I wear the explorer I just laugh.
Really hoping at watches and wonders Tudor steps their game up and release a pelagos or bb54 with a date.
If they slim down the black bay pro that would be contender as well. I much prefer 40 mm and under, and this 41mm citizen wears like a true 40. I’m liking it for a dive watch. 11mm and some change thick, super comfy and wearable.
I have one explorer left but it’s going in the safe for the boy. He can wear, sell it, whatever but it’s his. I want watches with a date but not a fan of cyclops lol. First world problems.
Ginault smokes it for 1/3 of the retail price and is much higher quality and finishes stand out. Love me some Tudors, their colors are horrendous for the most part though.Bb58 is about the best watch you can get in the 4-5k range that feels like a Rolex.
I disagree with almost every point you makeGinault smokes it for 1/3 of the retail price and is much higher quality and finishes stand out. Love me some Tudors, their colors are horrendous for the most part though.
The best watch they currently make is the Ranger 36.
My main gripe is the 750 service cost through a Rolex service center for them, yet they don’t service the movements. They replace em, they are throw away movements. Makes you question what they use making them and long term ownership. This is for the current stuff using in house movements btw.
Used Tudors are the way to go, most sell at 40-60 percent off retail on the secondary. Great watches at those prices.
Watches and wonders is less then a month away. If Tudor releases a date version of the black bay 54 or slims down the the black bay pro I’m buying one of each!

I’m liking it for a dive watch. 11.5 thick so a touch smaller then a pelagos, super comfy and wearable. Very 5 digit Rolex case feel with the bullet proof e168 eco.

nah. Can’t be a true topside tool watch without a date. Full stop. That’s fine. Colors are super subjective.I disagree with almost every point you make
Just wish my Pelagos had drilled lugs. Think all tool watches should have them.@bowhuntercoop How did I miss the 114270 being offered?!

The black bay pro opalite needs a diet of like 3mm to get to Explorer proportions.
See that’s what I mean is so awesome, all personal preference haha. I can’t stand the look of drilled lugs and only run metal brackets.Just wish my Pelagos had drilled lugs. Think all tool watches should have them.
